So you got the home of your dreams? You are all moved in and comfy, but you have planned guests coming. Here are some tips to make there stay more comfortable.

  1. Make sure the entry and street area of your home are free of debris. Shovel snow and sprinkle salt if needed. Check your exterior lighting to make sure it is working. Decorate your door for the season, to make a cheerful entrance.
  2. Make sure your door bell works and the entry is inviting. The first impression does mean a lot here.
  3. Clean up and unclutter those common areas, where your guest will more than likely spend the majority of there time. This should include a good cleaning of the guest room and bathroom.
  4. Stock up that refridgerator with a variety of items. Your guests may have a different set of taste buds as you and enjoy a different variety of refreshments and appetizer type foods. Get some cookies, chips, etc.
  5. Kids are fun. If you don’t have children you should borrow some kid friendly movies and maybe some games or puzzles, so your underage guests are comfortable and will want to come back.

Lastly, relax. If you forget something or your guests need things, it is always fun to go shopping while guest are in town. It can be a good breather for you even if you love your guests to pieces. Your guest will probably love your home no matter what, because they love you. They are coming for the good company and not the setting.
